“The real task with dealing with extraterrestrials is to know when you’ve got one.

It’s completely silly to search the galaxy with radio telescopes for a radio civilisation. I mean to my mind that is as chuckle-headed as deciding you are going to search the galaxy for a decent Italian restaurant.” -Terence McKenna

When I spoke last year in a London inn haunted by the ghost of a highwayman about the possibility that a star in the Cygnus having a Dyson Sphere built around it, one of the further indicators that this might be so would be a subsequent dimming of the star -indicating a construction project moving toward completion and blocking out more of the light.

And that’s what is happening.

Unfortunately, as is the way with these news releases, they’re written up as wacky news -“What’s next? Phasers??“- and then retumbled across the neckbeardternet. During last year’s discussion, I mentioned that the observations of the potential Dyson Sphere got moved to that spook tech nexus of DARPA-affiliated Northeast universities and that we should not hold our breath for any more detailed scientific disclosures. The follow-up reporting this year has borne out that speculation.

Now it seems we might also have found a trattoria for Terence:

“The signal conceivably fits the profile for an intentional transmission from an extraterrestrial source,” said Alan Boyle, author of “The Case for Pluto” who reported the story for Geekwire. “In any case, the blip is interesting enough to merit discussion by those who specialize in the search for extraterrestrial intelligence.”

The signal’s strength indicates that if it in fact came from a isotropic beacon, the power source would have to be built by a Kardashev Type II civilization. (The Kardashev scale is used to determine the progress of a civilization’s technological development by measuring how much energy was used to transmit an interstellar message.) An ‘Isotropic’ beacon means a communication source emitting a signal with equal power in all directions while promoting signal strength throughout travel.

Probably the main reason (beyond disinfo and limited hang outs) that these observations continue to ‘defy explanation‘ is that the explanatory power of Official Reality is woeful. The commonly-held notion that ‘the distances are too great’ for physical lifeforms from other planets to visit us is correct from a (wrong) Standard Physics perspective.

Move to a model of Physics that actually better matches the data and those notions drop away -but then so does the notion of physical life forms as we’d expect Official Reality to model. In Star Trek terms it’s like there’s not much of an interval ‘Federation Period’ in between Cochrane’s first warp flight and the Q Continuum.

McKenna was right that searching for radio signals is useless and terracentric -even if we found them, you’re probably dealing with a culture going through it’s I Love Lucy era and it would thus fall to us to go and visit them anyway… which means getting away from the Physics of Official Reality… which means the whole point of going to visit our hypothetical space brothers is moot and either some version of the Prime Directive would kick in or we’d simply find something way more interesting/lucrative to go examine. (Also, by the time their radio waves reached us, the culture that propagated them would presumably have achieved a level of technological complexity sufficient enough to beat their broadcasts to earth.)

You see, that’s the thing with the endless Sudoku challenge of modelling alien cultures and alien contacts -and it relates to Chris’s Lucifer’s Technologies in a way- you don’t actually need a flying saucer to crash in Roswell to achieve the same technological development as if it had… you only need to think about it happening. (Incidentally, this is also the implications of the hypothesis put forward in Star.Ships -tangle with the stars, increase cultural/technological complexity along lines we cannot see the end of.)

That also means that if these latest signals are coming from an Italian restaurant then it is one bugged and rigged by the FBI to catch mafia bosses -ie it is a trap. Batshit though he is these days, Stephen Hawking is correct in suggesting it is probably not the best idea to be pissing radio signals out into space. We need only look at our near neighbours to get a hint that there are some unpleasant things somewhere out in The Black.

A similar Official Reality model error afflicts occultism and other forms of alternativia: That there are aliens and that there are spirits seems too difficult to hold in one’s head at the same time. Are the spirits aliens? (“Is our children learning?”) No. If there are physical life forms behind the construction of the Dyson Sphere or behind this weird radio signal then -I posit- they are subject to the same nonphysical interaction and subsequent wobbles in technological complexity as described in Campfire’s Edge. (Don’t forget you can watch the presentation by logging into this site.)

Granted, it gets a little blurry when you allow for the fact that a universe-spanning spirit world must contain the Dead of numerous alien races and hence interaction with it implies a roundabout transfer of technology from one species to another… only separated in time. (I think this is behind many earth cultures’ foreshadowing of some of the things we now know to be true about ancient Mars. Martian ghosts. Wheeeee! Science!)

It’s worth quoting Whitley in The Super Natural here again.

I suspect that there are other worlds in which the veil between the living and the dead has long ago fallen, and the whole species is evolving as one, partly injected into time and partly in timelessness, and both elements working together toward the discovery of a greater whole. I suspect that our visitors—at least, the aliens among them—are already like this. In fact, I would assume that they are more deeply involved with our souls than with our bodies.

So…. They live in the Starlight, eh?

As we saw in the breakneck timeline described in Stranger Jacques, once you remove the ARV (Alien Recovered Vehicle) Hypothesis from the twentieth century’s technological development and replace it with a human/Campfire’s Edge one, you quickly realise we would have rather quickly encountered them, not the other way around.

And that does appear to have happened. We discern the traces of it in some of the programmes Chris is running down. But we’ve also had the most talented remote viewers come out and say precisely that: Both the US and the Soviets were encountering nonhumans and how those encounters happen/ed has/have implications for technological development and space travel.

Here’s Ingo Swann on a recently-uploaded (although Clinton I-era) interview on that very subject.

As discussed with Jack earlier this year on the show, we are entering Fort’s Dominant of Witchcraft. What comes after it? The Dominant of Space Witchcraft.

Be sure to try its seppie al nero. Delicious.
