Will You Know It When You See It?

Paul Stamets appeared on Joe Rogan’s podcast the same day I gave my Dominant of Witchcraft presentation in Sydney, which I took as a good sign. It’s Joe at his least annoying in years so you should watch it.

I took it as a sign because there is a whole sequence in the presentation expanding on the ‘mycelial panspermia’ notion I presented at the London Occult Conference last year, plus it ties into the recently completed premium member course on Journeying, which included excerpts from another recent Stamets video:

Mycelial panspermia actually makes more sense than prevailing soil formation theories required to capture water (which we also have no good understanding of the origin of) here on earth -which otherwise rely on an instantaneous evolution of bacteria into mycelium to combine to build soil structure to hold water so they can both exist. It’s a sort of circular Just So story.

McKenna being McKenna (Terence, anyway), he pushed the notion into including a hyperdimensional, conscious, mycelial network spread out across the known galaxy.

Which brings us to Star Trek Discovery -a show I'm really quite enjoying despite the villains being condensed into a Liberal/Centrist American fever dream of all nightmares: African caricatured, Russian-accented 'Klingons' who appear on screen with ominous Arabic music. The ultimate foreign menace for the Resistonauts.  It's like they've left villain creation to the editorial team of The Onion as a form of self-satire. I was beginning to wonder if that might not be the case until this week's episode -which unfortunately dumbed itself back down to the low resolution 'with us or against us' McCain/Clintonite war mongery seen in the pilot. (And because reality is folding in on itself, George Takei is blaming the Russians/Klingons for his sexual assaults.)

Star Trek Discovery, starring Paul Stamets. Concerning itself with a secret military project involving mushrooms as hyperdimensional space/time travel and communication networks across the galaxy. Fancy that. Earth's Paul Stamets talks about consulting on the show in the Rogan interview, by the way. In amongst talk of black helicopters and how his knowledge of portobello mushrooms could get him killed by the CIA. Five seconds of research suggests this is because, in its raw form, it contains a compound that nullifies the effects of the CIA's publicly acknowledged mind control drug. (Aren't we all having a very gourmet 2017, then?)

As you know, my version of AAT runs along the interventionist line. 'Directed panspermia' is one of the prevailing official views about how life arrived here on earth -which seems highly likely- but I don't think it goes far enough. I think you can push it in a very McKenna direction without it ever touching the sides.

And I think by now 'other' people do, too. Remember the mushroom:

Skeptiko Mysterioso, Alex Tsakiris, goes over some of this in a recent interview on Psilly Rabbits, if you haven't caught it.

Chris Knowles and I have regularly speculated regarding the potential shape of a super-elite AAT cosmology as may be inferred/implied from their combination of gnomic statements, antiquity-stealing hobbies, architectural projects and public rituals. It has always interested me to learn what people with more money and guns/lasers believe about the world because they have more dangerous veys ov making you tokk.

You see, as we roll along with a resurrected archonology series, it is useful to remind ourselves that there is something to all of this. In all likelihood, the super-elite belief system is wrong because that is just the nature of belief systems. But it is not wrong in a binary sense. There is something to all of this. Something about the origins of life on earth, the imaginal, hyperdimensional mushrooms and all of that. We have to run these things through our experiential labs. Reality gets fucking weird when we give ourself the space to do so. Case in point -and speaking of previous podcast guests- the amazing Becca Tarnas has a new presentation up regarding her Jung/Tolkien work.

There is something to all of this and more dangerous people than thee and me think so. Example. This is the other thing Saudi Arabia is doing, alongside violently reorganising its own power structure and gearing up for a proxy-to-hot war with Iran.

Listen to the narrator's descriptions and cast your eyes over the artist conceptions of what Neom looks like.

And then ask yourself... will you know it when you see it?

POSTSCRIPT: I go to see publish and I see Mr Knowles is huffing the same glue today. Check it out.
