It appears the Star.Ships are beginning to land in other countries. Thanks to everyone who’s been tweeting or emailing me pictures. I’m both very glad and just weirdly relieved that it’s finally out in the world.
The relief is welcomed because it means I can be fully rested for tomorrow night’s actual launch! At Atlantis! Here are the final details:
- Atlantis Bookshop
- 49A Museum Street
- Starts at 6:30pm
- Nearest tubes: Holborn, Russell Square or Tottenham Court Road
There will be some pre-drinks from around 5pm across the road at The Plough (one of the many ‘Crowley pubs’ in the Fitzrovia/Bloomsbury area) because there are quite a few people coming from across the UK and from outside it. Which is an even better reason to attend than watching me make the mixologist-designed event cocktail in a jug.
For those unfamiliar with London, here are the TFL trackworks you need to be aware of. Nothing major unless you were planning on spending the day going around and around the Circle Line. Which is actually super-difficult today now that it’s more of an @-sign line.
There’s a newish American-influenced diner right next to Atlantis that -whilst missing the food trend by about 18 months- nevertheless does decent burgers and such.
If you’re lost or get tricked into joining a gang or are shipped off to a Dickensian workhouse or any of the other things that happen to London visitors, hit me up on twitter.
And if you’re playing along at home, that’s also where most of the pics of the night will be. Also some on the facestalk page, wifi willing.
The launch itself will go for a few hours and then there’s usually a few people kicking on after that.
BE THERE IF YOU CAN.
And now, here’s a review of the book from Tommie. Which I include because I’m always happy people like the book but, let’s be honest, it’s mostly because he did this:
